The mobile eco-park of the Vega Baja Sustainable Consortium is having good acceptance among the residents of the municipalities that have already hosted this facility. In addition to the itinerant tour through the localities, the eco-park has, on some days, an environmental educator. He taught yesterday to schoolchildren in Orihuela what waste can be recycled.
The students of 5th and 6th grade of the Jesus María School of San Isidro went to the eco-park and received an explanatory talk in which the educator explained the environmental benefits of recycling. They themselves had to identify the container to deposit objects such as a keyboard, light bulbs, toys, etc., and were interested and participatory with the eco-park.
The residents of the town of Oriola came to leave objects such as fluorescent tubes of light, printer toner, computer keyboards, computer towers, headphones, hair dryer, and so on. In addition, the educator distributed information brochures and merchandising.
The mobile eco-park visits a total of ten municipalities each week, two each day. All those interested in knowing where the installation is located and the schedule can visit the website ‘www.consorciovegabajasostenible.com’. It has created a specific section for mobile eco-park with all the details by municipalities.
The mobile installation has containers, cages and containers of different types and dimensions for waste. The deposits are for vegetable and mineral oils, as well as fluorescent; and containers for collecting toner and ink cartridges, paints and solvents, batteries, expired medicines, used batteries and electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
Up to 50 types of different waste can be deposited in the eco-park, but it is especially designed to collect those that are more difficult to deposit in the usual containers.
