The Consorcio Vega Baja Sostenible is finalizing the procedures for what will be one of the first transfer plants that the region needs. The municipality of Dolores will host one of the facilities that will employ 18 people. Specifically, the new installation will require a plant manager, two administrative staff, an electromechanical officer, seven laborers and seven drivers approximately.
The plant, which will receive waste from 13 localities in the region, will generate an economic impact of 1,145,029.25 euros in the municipality of Toledo. Specifically, the municipalities of Algorfa, Almoradí, Benijófar, Catral, Daya Nueva, Daya Vieja, Dolores, Formentera del Segura, Guardamar del Segura, Los Montesinos, Rojales, San Fulgencio and Torrevieja, will take their waste to this plant. transfer in which they will be compacted for their later transfer to the treatment plants.
The transfer plant will host 106,907 tons of municipal solid waste, voluminous, Organic Fraction of Municipal Waste and pruning. The municipality will receive one euro for each ton per year, which will mean a total of 724,684 euros in four years, the estimated time of the service. In addition to the money received for licenses, taxes, etc., investments in roads worth 420,345 euros are also contemplated.
The president of the Vega Baja Sustainable Consortium, Manuel Pineda, said that “we thank Dolores for their solidarity with the municipalities of the region since this transfer plant provides a solution to a significant part of the waste we generate.” In this regard, Pineda recalled that “in the future, the plant in the southern zone will have to be put into operation, as well as the entire network of fixed and mobile ecoparks”.
For his part, the general director of Climate Change and Environmental Quality of the Generalitat Valenciana, has assured that the transfer plant “will be the most modern in the Valencian Community and a typical installation, since it does not generate problems in the municipalities where it is located ”
Characteristics of the transfer plant
The facility that will host the municipality of Dolores will be a warehouse of 685.50 m2 with a system for closing fast doors, with the aim of minimizing the time of opening them by sensors, which detect the presence of trucks at the entrance and exit from the transfer plant. In addition, an aspiration system will extract air from the interior of the ship, cleaning it through a biofilter and the whole air will be renewed three times every hour.
Likewise, a closed tank will be installed that will receive the leachate from the cleaning of the pavement of the ship and the biofilter.
