The Vega Baja Sostenible Consortium has completed the actions on the street during the first month with the participation of more than 6,000 people. Specifically, there have been 5,500 adults who have passed through the Consortium’s exhibitor and who have collected explanatory brochures, and 1,000 children who have participated in different kinds of games, such as the goose, recycling races, and so on.
The main objective is to bring the entity closer to citizens so that they know what the Consortium is and also collect their concerns. In this sense, a survey has been launched that citizens respond to on the street about recycling, plastics, among other issues. When the actions that will be carried out during the month of May are finished, the results of this survey and the most relevant data will be announced.
Regarding the concerns of the residents of Vega Baja, a majority asks for more means to deposit waste, are interested in recycling and, above all, by new ways of managing waste. Likewise, citizens also take note of the containerization of their municipalities and ask for more collaboration between all the agents involved in waste management processes such as institutions, companies and users.
Actions on the street will continue this month in squares, street markets, but also in shopping centers such as La Zenia and Ociopia. The objective is to promote recycling, make the entity known and continue developing actions to improve waste management in the Vega Baja. The calendar of visits to each municipality and the specific places can be consulted in the social networks of the Consortium and through the website: http://www.consorciovegabajasostenible.com/el-consorcio-sale-a-la-calle/.
The Vega Baja Sostenible Consortium has produced a video whose motto is ‘What unites us’. Within the Environmental Communication and awareness-raising Plan, in addition to actions on the street, we also want to make the Consortium known through all the digital platforms. The video can be viewed through the Consortium’s website or on the Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4ewoQS-dwQ.
